Bio Gel

A natural-nail overlay places gel over the existing nail without adding length. Colour gel may be applied within the same system. Some thicker gels can be sculpted into extensions, but that is a different booking with more product, shaping, and time.

The technician prepares the nail, applies compatible layers, cures them under the lamp specified for the system, and finishes the surface and free edge. Product contact with surrounding skin should be avoided.

Builder gel is a broad category for gels that create structure. Bio Sculpture offers structural products within its own system. BIAB is The GelBottle Inc.'s Builder In A Bottle trademark. These terms may describe services with similar goals, but they do not prove that the formulas, lamps, infill rules, or removal methods are interchangeable.

Ask whether the service is an official Bio Sculpture BIOGEL application, which base and builder products will be used, and whether the salon recommends an infill or full removal at the next visit.

Bio Sculpture identifies BIOGEL as a soak-off system. Removal still requires the correct procedure and enough time; peeling or scraping resistant product can damage the natural nail surface. Other products marketed informally as bio gel may have different removal directions.

The service does not make the natural nail permanently stronger. It provides a protective structure while worn, and the balance changes as the nail grows. Persistent redness, itching, swelling, or separation should be assessed by an appropriate professional rather than covered with more product.

The project's 2026 menu research found explicitly advertised Bio Gel or overlay services at about $55 to $75+ in the sampled locations. Coverage was limited and several cities had insufficient Bio Gel data, so this is an observed advertised range rather than a national average. Full sets, removal, added length, art, repairs, tax, and gratuity can increase the total.
