Definition
A hair gloss is a clear or tinted salon formula used to refine tone, add shine, or refresh the look of colour.
Explanation
The word gloss describes a result and service category rather than one universal formula. Some glosses are demi-permanent oxidative colours mixed with a low-strength developer; others use different direct-dye or conditioning systems. A gloss can make colour look fresher, but it does not repair split ends or permanently change the structure of damaged hair.
